Starting from Ouarzazate, the N9 road leads you southeast into the stunning Draa Valley. This valley is shaped by a narrow stream that flows from the High Atlas Mountains, bringing life to green oases along the way. Between Agdz and Zagora, you’ll find these lush spots dotting the desert landscape over about 95 km.
The drive from Agdz to Zagora takes around three to four hours, with a beautiful alternative route called the Circuits Touristiques that winds through the heart of the oasis. If you keep going, the road stretches another 96 km south to M’Hamid, a small town just 40 km from the Algerian border. Here, the desert truly begins—endless sand dunes and open skies.
The Draa Valley is a peaceful paradise filled with palm trees, ancient kasbahs, and Berber villages. It’s the perfect place to slow down, walk beneath the date palms, and feel the timeless rhythm of Morocco’s desert life.
